Job Description

Purpose: Support the design, estimating, and execution of civil scopes for solar and 
industrial projects. Collaborate with preconstruction, engineering design, and field 
operations assuring constructible, cost-effective solutions that meet project requirements 
and timelines. 

What You'll Do:  
• Support civil preliminary analysis and estimating. 
• Assist with grading heat maps and conceptual site optimization. 
• Support pricing by gathering vendor and subcontractor quotes. 
• Assist with review and validation of subcontractor proposals. 
• Assist in preparation of bid packages and project proposals. 
• Support civil design internally and externally, including grading, drainage, access 
roads, and site development layouts. 
• Review drawings and project documentation  
• Review geotechnical reports and incorporate findings into design 
recommendations. 
• Assist in development of grading plans, cut/fill evaluations, and 
constructability reviews. 
• Review customer specifications 
• Assist with coordination of RFIs and submittals 
• Review material specifications 
• Generate material takeoffs 
• Support civil construction activities. 
• Assist with generation and review of CAD models and drawings using 
AutoCAD and Civil 3D. 
• Perform civil takeoffs including earthwork, roads, drainage, and site prep. 
• Collaborate with operations to support construction execution. 
• Assist with development and verification of grading files. 
• Assist with the development and verification of pile/equipment coordinate 
files. 
• Support surveying, staking layouts, and site setup. 
• Provide technical guidance to field crews 
• Travel to site to support and coordinate with project and construction teams for 
successful project execution. 
• Foster key strategic relationships with various partners. 
• Ongoing integration and gain of technical knowledge to further establish self as a 
reliable source of information to the engineering team. 
• Manage project files, drawings, documents & records across multiple projects at a 
time. 
• Identify challenges and work with Quality and SMEs to resolve issues and 
implement continuous improvement actions.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Civil Engineering or civil construction execution. To include experience in proper design and constructability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Experience in using or a desire to learn the required software - AutoCAD, Civil 3D, similar.
  • Knowledge of applicable civil practices - materials, SWPPP, Geotech, grading files, surveying.
  • Must be self-motivated and flexible to accommodate changes in KE business strategies
  • Have entrepreneurial approach to problem solving and be accountable for project decisions and actions.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that represents a history of safe & competent driving.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
