Abonmarche is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer in our South Bend, IN office.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for leading and managing engineering projects from concept to completion, including design as well as delegating and supervising the work of other engineers. The Senior Civil Engineer is the technical leader for a project in our company.

  • Directs and manages the project design team as well as coordinates schedules with the project managers and supervisors to ensure that deadlines are met
  • Assists in the preparation of proposals or project scope including feasibility cost estimates
  • Reviews project work at appropriate milestones and follows quality control plan
  • Coordinates and establishes relationships with permitting agencies
  • Directs and reviews permit applications, specifications, bid documents, cost estimates, and report writing
  • Coordinates with Geotech or other technical subs and communicates with contractor as needed
  • Determines team roles for construction administration and performs spot field checks during construction
  • Coordinates continuing education opportunities for technical staff
  • Mentors and trains junior staff

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Indiana
  • 5+ years of experience in civil engineering
  • Experience in a project engineer role for any of the following types of projects is preferred: municipal, roadway design, sanitary sewers, water mains, storm sewers, trails, traffic signals, site design for residential, commercial, educational and industrial projects
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team
  • Good verbal and written skills
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Microsoft Suite programs
