We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Germantown, Maryland team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects involving all aspects of civil engineering for private- and publicโ€‘sector clients. If you are enthusiastic and driven to succeed, enjoy a challenge, would like to work on a team of talented professionals, and want to have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies in Civil Engineering, then look no further.

Qualifications
  • BS degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 yearsโ€™ experience in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Engineerโ€‘inโ€‘Training (EIT) or working towards it within the next year preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Technical proficiency in all aspects of civil engineering including roadways and streets, grading, stormwater management design, erosion and sediment control, water distribution design, and sanitary sewer design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detailโ€‘oriented with strong organizational skills
Responsibilities
  • Design and prepare engineering documents for specific design components of a project including storm water management design (ESD and structural solutions), sediment erosion control, storm drain design and computations, WSSC water and sewer design, grade establishment plans, maintenance of traffic plans, and rightโ€‘ofโ€‘way improvement plans
  • Manage standard to routine design tasks from running reports to performing technical calculations
  • Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of Design Engineers and Technicians
  • Work independently on assignments to generate expected results
  • Coordinate efforts with clients, agencies, various VIKA departments, Engineering, as well as other consultants
