Job Description

Title: Senior Project Engineer

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead end-to-end project management for large-scale manufacturing expansion initiatives, including various new Machining methods at the Aiken site.
  • Serve as the primary project lead coordinating cross-functional workstreams across Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities, Quality,
  • Logistics, Purchasing, Controlling, HR, IT, and external partners
  • Define project scope, objectives, schedules, and governance structures in alignment with global manufacturing standards, timelines, and budgetary targets.
  • Deploy established manufacturing processes and standards from global reference sites while enabling adaptation and innovation to support local production requirements.
  • Coordinate facility planning, building modifications, equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover to operations.
  • Plan, lead, and facilitate technical workshops and alignment sessions with domestic and international stakeholders to ensure project milestones, deliverables, and operational readiness.
  • Apply Lean manufacturing principles to design and implement optimized future-state value streams that support productivity, flow, and long-term operational efficiency.
  • Drive project execution through disciplined progress tracking, risk management, issue resolution, and escalation as required.
  • Prepare and present decision-ready status updates, progress reports, and escalation materials to senior and executive leadership.
  • Support workforce readiness by coordinating inputs to training strategies and implementation plans for new manufacturing departments and technologies.
  • Act as a key change agent, ensuring effective communication, alignment, and adoption of new systems and processes across cultures and time zones.
  • Promote a strong compliance, safety, and quality culture in alignment with the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.
  • Perform special projects as assigned to support strategic manufacturing objectives.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline

Preferred:

  • Extensive professional experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional projects, preferably within an international or multi-site manufacturing context.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes with demonstrated interest in digital workflows, data-driven manufacturing, and modern production systems.
  • Strong project management capability, including planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence, align, and drive decisions across organizational boundaries.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a complex, matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required to support project execution.
  • Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite; experience with project planning or tracking tools
  • German language skills
  • Project management professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience supporting manufacturing expansions, facility launches, or major capital investment projects.
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing or value stream design methodologies.
  • Experience working within global manufacturing networks.
