At CESO, a Project Engineer II leverages prior engineering experience to oversee the design and preparation of engineering construction documentation, specifications, and details for multiple projects simultaneously. This position involves using technical knowledge to actively participate in both internal and external meetings, making recommendations based on research, observations, and experience. A Project Engineer II works both individually and collaboratively with team members, leading the coordination and preparation of engineering construction documents, specifications, and details. Additionally, they utilize engineering software and tools to create, modify, and analyze designs, review and improve concepts, and contribute to the preparation of technical reports. A Project Engineer II also troubleshoots technical issues and stays up to date with the latest engineering trends and technologies. 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Leads the preparation of construction and ancillary documents in accordance with project scopes, client requirements, and applicable jurisdictional standards.
  • Lead and support design teams in the daily planning, coordination, and execution of project tasks under the guidance of senior staff or project managers.
  • Support the project team by coordinating with internal and external partners, including vendors, sub-consultants, clients, Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), other departments, and project management team, to ensure alignment and accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Research and apply relevant design standards, codes, and regulations from clients, the company, and governing authorities to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Perform engineering calculations and technical analysis.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of engineering documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to industry and company standards.
  • Prioritize and manage tasks effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Apply engineering principles and technology to develop practical, innovative, and efficient solutions for a variety of project types.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience is required.
  • Completion of Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (FE) and certification as an EIT with a state licensure board is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred.
  • Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, AutoTurn, BlueBeam Revu and other applicable design software.

Actual pay is determined by several factors, including location, experience, education, skills, and internal equity. Our pay structures are benchmarked against industry and market data to stay competitive. Each offer is based on a full review of a candidate’s background, qualifications, and fit for the role.

• Cincinnati, OH: $80,945 – $100,288
