Cochran's Union, Missouri headquarters' location, is looking for a Civil Project Engineer to join our team.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support a wide range of civil engineering projects. This role is ideal for someone with an EIT certification who is actively pursuing or has recently achieved their Professional Engineer (PE) license. The ideal candidate brings experience in design, permitting, and construction support, and is ready to take on more responsibility in project coordination and client communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, design, and delivery of civil engineering projects, including site development, roadway improvements, drainage systems, and utility infrastructure
  • Prepare design plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates
  • Perform engineering calculations, site layout, grading, and stormwater modeling
  • Support project managers with schedules, budgets, permitting, and agency coordination
  • Conduct site visits and assist with construction observation and documentation
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Mentor junior engineers and support staff as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • EIT certification required
  • PE license preferred or on track to obtain within 12 months
  • 3–6 years of relevant civil engineering experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
