Overview:

As a Project Engineer specializing in HVAC controls, you will play a crucial role in the planning, execution, and management of HVAC control projects. You will work closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your technical expertise and project management skills will be essential in optimizing system performance and client satisfaction.

Company History: Founded in 2008; we are a temperature controls HVAC company. In 2015 we purchased Technical Energy Solutions, another great controls group. We have 3 branch locations being Grand Rapids, Alpena, and Rochester Hills.

Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans encompassing scope, timeline, budget, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to address challenges and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Oversight: Oversee the implementation of HVAC control systems, including programming, configuration, and integration with existing systems.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (engineers, technicians, and sales) to coordinate project activities, fostering effective communication and collaboration to resolve issues.
  • Communication Management: Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and Change Orders, communicating pertinent information to the Project Manager for processing.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance checks to ensure all systems meet performance standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Documentation Management: Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design specifications, installation manuals, and progress reports.
  • Site Coordination: Coordinate with other trades and the General Contractor (GC) during project execution to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Software Verification: Ensure that software is operating equipment correctly, conducting pointtopoint checkout, verifying PID Loop operation, and confirming software engineering completion at project close.
  • Project Closeout: Collaborate with the installation team to provide accurate project closeout information to the Design Engineering team and Project Manager.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in HVAC project engineering, with a focus on control systems.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC design principles and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in project management software and HVAC design tools.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
