Project Engineer/Project Manager (Civil/Transportation)
Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Project Engineers & Managers include performance of various traffic engineering design tasks, including the design of traffic signals, preparation of traffic signing, striping and pavement marking plans, design of intersection lighting and electrical plans, design of intelligent transportation systems (ITS); and the preparation of detours, Transportation Management Plans, and Traffic Control Plans. Perform/supervise the design and development of roadwork plans for highway, roadway, interchange and drainage projects using Micro Station. Perform the design of traffic signal/electrical plans and intersection and highway lighting systems. Perform intersection and roadway capacity analyses using HCS 2010, Synchro, and SimTraffic software. Supervise the preparation of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E), developing construction cost estimates.
Requirements
  • Professional Engineer (PE) in NY or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire preferred. Master's or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Work experience in New York with NYSDOT, NYCDOT, MTA and/or PANYNJ preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in Traffic/ITS design, highway geometric design, utilities, drainage and traffic signal design, or closely related engineering field.
  • Familiar with NYSDOT Highway Standards and specs
  • Knowledge of GuidSIGN or Auto TURN and Bentley In-Roads, a plus
  • MicroStation V8i experience required.
