Job description


Job Summary:
This position will collaborate closely with a dedicated Project Manager, reporting to the Sales Manager, and be responsible for the technical coordination of assigned projects. This includes fostering clear and consistent communication among all disciplines and project team members, including clients, architects, and vendors. This role offers the opportunity to further hone your expertise in estimating, scheduling, and design within our dynamic design-built construction process, leveraging the latest technologies and BIM methodologies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Draft and manage critical project documentation, including proposals, letters, memos, subcontracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, procurement logs, and shop drawings.
  • Organize and participate in essential internal and external project meetings, including project kickoffs, BIM coordination, and scheduling reviews.
  • Perform material takeoffs, solicit vendor and subcontractor quotes, compile comprehensive bid estimates, and assemble change order packages.
  • Interpret complex technical plans and specifications to monitor onsite job progress, enforce quality control, and resolve emergent installation challenges.
  • Execute vendor and subcontractor buyouts, manage procurement tracking, and oversee the successful delivery of purchased items.
  • Track installations, forecast labor requirements, review invoices, and develop client billings to maintain project budget integrity.
  • Lead comprehensive job closeout efforts, including the compilation and submission of O&Ms, commissioning documentation, as-builts, and warranty processing.
  • Partner closely with the Project Management team to report on budget and timeline impacts, escalating potential issues early to drive solutions to resolution.
  • Leverage standard engineering technologies to provide technical support, participate in design planning, and conduct value engineering and alternate solution reviews.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with external partners (customers, prime contractors, suppliers) and cross-functional internal departments (Construction, Fabrication, Accounting, Legal).
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Position Requirements (Work Experience, Skills, Licenses, etc.):
  • Experience and Career Progression: Progression from Project Engineer I to Project Engineer II, III, or a Senior role is based on performance, experience, and demonstrated leadership potential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Experience preferred in Business Systems Software (JDE, IFS, BidTracer, FastEst, Bluebeam, Box, Smartsheet, etc.)

Education and Experience:
Required:
  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

Desired:
  • Mechanical and/or related engineering educational concentration

Travel required 0-10% of the time to other office locations.
Hours:
This is a non-exempt position from Monday through Friday. Work hours begin and end between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm with a one-hour break for lunch and two rest breaks. Eight hours per day is required and other occasional overtime may be necessary for business needs

Competitive Wages:
$28.84 to $57.69 per hour. Applicants please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
