We are actively seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our construction team. This role is ideal for someone with construction experience who is looking to grow into project management, field leadership, or construction operations.

The Project Engineer will support project teams with coordination, documentation, scheduling, reporting, and communication throughout the construction process. This is a great opportunity for someone who is hardworking, organized, and interested in building a long-term career in commercial and multi-family construction.

Project Engineer Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers, Superintendents, and Assistant Superintendents with daily project coordination.
  • Support field operations, project documentation, and construction administration.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and project plans.
  • Help track project schedules, production, quantities, and overall progress.
  • Maintain accurate field reports, project records, meeting notes, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and internal project teams.
  • Assist with site inspections, quality control, safety compliance, and project logistics.
  • Help identify, document, and communicate field issues to project leadership.
  • Support change order tracking, material coordination, and project closeout documentation.
  • Participate in project meetings and assist with follow-up items.
  • Learn construction management, project coordination, scheduling, and field leadership processes.
  • Support the successful execution of commercial and multi-family construction projects throughout the Detroit metropolitan area.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Minimum of two years of experience in a construction trade, field role, construction administration, or related construction position.
  • Relevant commercial, multi-family, or general construction experience is preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and technical documents is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, field personnel, and project leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is preferred.
