Job Description: The Quality Control (QC) Manager oversees and ensures that all construction activities, materials, and workmanship comply with project specifications, codes, and contractual requirements. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the project-specific quality control plan, conducting inspections, managing testing, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring documentation is accurate and complete.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain the project Quality Control Plan (QCP).
Oversee and coordinate all quality control activities including inspections, testing, and documentation.
Ensure construction work complies with plans, specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
Conduct and document pre-construction meetings, preparatory inspections, and follow-up inspections.
Maintain records of inspections, test results, deficiencies, corrective actions, and re-inspections.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to resolve quality issues.
Monitor subcontractor performance and verify compliance with quality standards.
Prepare and submit quality control reports to stakeholders as required.
Train field personnel and subcontractors on quality standards and procedures.
Serve as the main point of contact with regulatory agencies and clients for quality-related matters.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, industry standards, and QA/QC processes.
Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and contract specifications.
Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and technical documents.
Proficient in documentation, reporting, and use of construction management software.
Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and leadership abilities to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

5+ years of construction quality control experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or management role.

Preferred certifications:

  • USACE/NAVFAC CQM-C (for federal projects)
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety
  • ACI, AWS, or ICC certifications (as applicable)

Proven track record ensuring compliance with QA/QC standards on complex construction projects.
