Job description

(Job Description)

A large, reputable HVAC/construction company is currently hiring for a Project Engineer to support major projects in Boise, ID. This person will provide project management support for Project Managers through effective communication, negotiation, scheduling, tracking, document control, and forecasting of costs and profitability. Will support and collaborate with company superintendents, foremen, engineers, detailers, and management to deliver quality and profitable projects. The client holds the plumbing scope on this project, and a majority of work will be plumbing-related.

Pay - $70k/yr. - $85k/yr. (Salary, but eligible for Overtime)

Location - Boise, ID

Schedule - 100% On-site (Expectation is 50 hours per week, with overtime pay for Saturday work)

(Summary of Key Responsibilities)

  • Track, forecast, and report labor hours and material costs.
  • Assist in the buyout/procurement process of major equipment and subcontracts.
  • Expedite and track deliveries of major equipment/materials.
  • Maintain working knowledge of general conditions, work scope, and specifications of project contract/subcontract.
  • Maintain and control documents in compliance with client's Standards as well as contractual compliance.
  • Collaborate with field labor supervision to plan, organize, and schedule project work, including preparation of subcontract/contract integrated project schedule.
  • Review contract drawings, detail drawings, and specifications.
  • Prepare fabrication shop work package including detail drawing review, material take-off and buyout, and man-hour fabrication budget.
  • Ensure full compliance with Safety Program at the jobsite.
  • Regular attendance and promptness.
  • Work with MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, OneDrive, MS Teams, SharePoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Viewpoint Vista, Revit, Stratus (on-the-job training will be provided for many of these programs).
  • Develop an understanding of construction sequencing, especially as it is related to mechanical and plumbing scopes of work.

(Qualification Requirements)

  • Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering desired.
  • Previous construction field experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Understanding of RFI's, Submittals, and ability to read and understand project plans related to mechanical scope.
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam and Procore highly preferred.
  • HVAC, Plumbing, and/or Piping knowledge highly preferred.
  • Comfortable submitting to a drug test (including THC testing) upon offer.
