POSITION

 

BluePoint Engineering (BPE) is seeking a Senior Substation Project Engineer to join our Aiken South Carolina engineering team. They will be an integral member of the team, responsible for overseeing the design of solar farm substations up to 230kV. The incumbent will be responsible for the entire design cycle as well as coordination of engineering resources both internal and external to BPE.  In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for development of one-line, three-line, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams and relay settings. The successful candidate will oversee the preparation of bid specifications, administering bids, bid evaluation and award of major equipment. Depending upon the complexity of the project, the candidate will be responsible for providing direction to other design team member to coordinate the development of the overall design package. The Senior Substation Project Engineer will report, and work closely with the BPE Department Manager on substation designs, and they must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in an autonomous and deadline-oriented workplace.

Qualification,

 

The Senior Substation Project Engineer will have the following experience and attributes:

Required Qualifications:

·       A hybrid or fully remote work schedule option is available for this role.

·       BS degree in electrical engineering or related degree

·       Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain licensure

·       The successful candidate shall demonstrate related experience and strong technical knowledge in the area of protection and control as it relates to transmission and substations planning/protection.

·       4+ years of experience in Protection and Control

·       5+ years electrical substation design experience

·       Strong Relay setting and coordination experience

·       Registration as a PE licensure

·       Ability to provide field support for engineering and technical questions.

·       Willingness to travel to customer sites locally up to 10-15%

·       Lead the design and implementation of P&C design, settings and SCADA applications.

·       Manage projects to meet cost, quality, timing, and customer satisfaction goals

·       Experience supporting projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning

·       Reviewing engineering work performed by peers

Desired Qualifications:

·       Ability to perform AC & DC substation studies.

·       Familiarity with software packages such as ASPEN OneLiner.
