Job Description
The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, improving, implementing, monitoring and maintaining quality systems and supporting processes to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements for the industries we serve. The Quality Manager will provide technical leadership within the Quality discipline, driving adherence to systems and maintaining high levels of customer focus. The Quality Manager is also responsible leading follow-up corrective action and direction of all customer-related quality issues
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
  • Puts safety first in all responsibilities including awareness and adherence to all corporate and site environmental, health, and safety policies.
  • Be an active member of the plant leadership team
  • Serve a the "Management Representative" for audits and other related customer and internal quality inquiries
  • Provide leadership to the quality team
  • Must have flexibility to support a 24/7 manufacturing facility
  • Manage Amcor Plant Quality System and maintain registration to chosen quality standards.
  • Provide leadership and direction during supplier, internal and customer related quality activities, serving as a technical resource in areas of food safety and company quality programs.
  • Ensure that food safety and quality systems satisfy and meet at all times all customer specifications, internal and regulatory requirements (ISO, GMP, FDA, Food Safety, Medical, etc.) applicable to industry.
  • Ensuring the accurate and timely testing of raw materials, in process and finished products to meet customer and company quality standards.
  • Overseeing the appropriate collection, analysis and distribution of testing data.
  • Acting as a technical resource and liaison between the department and operations to address and resolve inquiries and problems
  • Overseeing the maintenance of the lab and related test equipment, including calibration, repair, servicing ordering supplies, training personnel as needed.
  • Managing customer complaint program, including responding to customer complaints in a timely manner and participate in formulation of corrective measures.
  • Overseeing compliance to corporate quality procedures including prerequisites, HACCP, GMP, and food safety, revising procedures as necessary.
  • Works closely with Operations, Technical and R&D on the introduction of new products and processes
  • Manage nonconformities and CAPA system including:
    • Review in-process quality failures and determine the disposition of nonconforming materials.
    • Correspond with customers and suppliers to resolve problems.
    • Lead root cause investigations through to effective long-term resolutions.
  • Instruct plant co-workers and encourage use of problem-solving and root cause analysis tools, leading by example.
  • Develop and implement appropriate in-process quality inspection plans using effective, cost-conscious methods
  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement in Quality.

WHAT WE VALUE
  • 5+ years of relevant working experience and training in Quality in a manufacturing environment
  • Extensive knowledge and hands on experience in implementing and maintaining quality system and food safety system standards
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma
  • Knowledge of the packaging industry desirable
  • Knowledge of Quality System Software and Quality Engineering tools
  • In-depth knowledge regulatory requirements for Medical, Pharmaceutical and Food packaging products is required
  • Knowledge of HACCP/FSSC 22000/SQF/BRC/IMS, ISO 13485/9001
