What is the Opportunity?ย 

TheProject Manageris responsible forย the overall execution of one orย numerousย projects in a safe and profitable manner, ensuring consistency with the company strategy, andย commitment to goals. The Project Manager willย be responsible forย overseeing projects up to $10M+ in the Calgary and surrounding areas.The position will be based out of our Quarry Park office inย Calgary, Albertaย with regular travel to site on a daily basis.ย 

What Will You Do Here:ย 

  • Lead by example ensuring Aecon's Environmental, Health and Safety Management System is adhered to.ย ย 

  • Develop,ย submitย and assess Health and Safety Plans, Environmental Construction Operating Plans, Quality Management Plans and Traffic Accommodation Strategies.ย 

  • Responsible forย the understandingย and interpretation of project estimates.ย 

  • Accurately interpret andย comprehendย contract drawings andspecifications.ย 

  • Prepare work schedules and coordinate project staff.ย 

  • Provide onsite management of crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and all other resources to complete the job.ย 

  • Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedulesย 

  • Ensure that contracts are kept current and updated with change orders on a regular basis.ย 

  • Daily, Weekly, Monthly tracking and understanding of pay quantities and cost reports.ย 

  • Chairmeetings and leaddiscussions with defined outcomes.ย 

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by his/herย Supervisor.ย 

What Do You Bring to the Team:ย 

  • Civil Engineering Degree or Diploma / or equivalent training and experience.ย 

  • A minimum of 3ย years experienceย as a Project Manager, a combination of civil construction experience as a Project Coordinator or Project Engineer will be considered.ย 

  • Familiar with the City of Calgary and surrounding area projects and specifications.ย 

  • Experience with asphalt paving,concrete,earthworksand underground construction.ย 

  • Capable ofย reading and understanding construction drawings and documents.ย 

  • Strong communicationย skills - oral and written.ย 

  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills.ย 

  • Adaptable toย workย a flexible work schedule whenย required, including evenings, weekends and overtime asย required.ย 

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.ย 

  • Competent to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.ย 

  • Mustย comply withย the company's drug & alcohol program, including testing requirements.ย 

  • Valid driver's license with a clean drivers abstract.ย
