Job description

SEWS - Farmington Hills, Michigan Office.Although located at SEWS- Farmington Hills Office, this is a Hybrid position, which combines both in office and off-site work.Associates are required to work at least three days in the office each week, but also have the flexibility to work off-site.
Basic Purpose:
To manage projects for SEWS Toyota wiring harness business. This includes the creation and tracking of a Project Master/Development Schedule and coordination of regular meetings with various departments in order to maintain a record of open issues, while assuring project milestones are met in order to achieve production preparation and launch targets. Responsible for reporting project status to Business Unit management and to key customer contacts at scheduled intervals.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Develops the project Master Plan (including overview and key target/KPIs) in order to kick off the project in SEWS.
  2. Holds the project Kick-Off meeting, at which the Master Plan is reviewed, the organization of supporting members is confirmed, and timing plan (overall schedule) is initiated.
  3. Develops maintains the Project Master/Development Schedule by coordinating regular meetings to confirm that all necessary actions are carried out according to the designated milestones.
  4. Act as liaison between W/H Development, Manufacturing locations, and related departments by sharing key information between the groups.
  5. Issues and maintains important project engineering information (spec lists, new component lists, etc.) throughout the entirety of the project.
  6. Report the project status (against planned timing/targets) to internal Upper Managements members and customer key contact members at designated times throughout the project.
  7. Provides timely response to customer surveys and questions regarding the project status throughout the course of the project.
  8. Occasional travel to engineering and/or manufacturing location (both customer and internal) to support preparation meeting or build events.
  9. Prepare the Project Reflection Summary at the conclusion of each project (to be utilized for future projects, potential customer awards, etc.).
  10. Support the new business competition activity for Toyota projects. This includes coordination of the competition schedule and certain activities, leading up to a final quote submission and technical presentation.
Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in Project Management or a related Engineering Discipline.
  • 1-3 Years experience with Project Management, preferably harness-related.
  • Preferable bi-lingual capability (English/Japanese or Spanish) but not mandatory.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Some projects need regular communication with oversea contacts, and it must be done during non-standard work hours.
