Job Summary

The Project Engineer 2 is a crucial team member in managing and executing large-scale heavy-highway and heavy-civil construction projects. This role demands a higher level of responsibility than Project Engineer 1, encompassing project oversight, stakeholder communication, risk management, and detailed reporting, while proficiently using specialized software tools.

  • Oversee and refine project plans, employing Oracle P6 Scheduling Software for detailed scheduling and critical path analysis.
  • Ensure project milestones and objectives are met, adapting plans as necessary for project success.
  • Lead collaborative efforts with project teams, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive) for effective communication, presentations, and information sharing.
  • Oversee and ensure the accuracy of project documentation and reporting.
  • Use Microsoft Power BI for advanced reporting and data analysis, providing insights for project progress and metrics.
  • Actively manage and enhance relationships with all project stakeholders, including clients, government agencies, and subcontractors.
  • Provide regular and transparent project updates and address stakeholder concerns promptly.
  • Take a lead role in budgeting and cost management, utilizing Excel and Viewpoint Vista ERP System.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising project quality.
  • Ensure all project aspects comply with quality standards and regulations.
  • Use Autodesk AutoCAD or Bentley MicroStation for ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality assurance.
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks, employing problem-solving strategies to address challenges.
  • Develop contingency plans to ensure project continuity in case of unforeseen events.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop project team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging professional growth and skill development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in heavy-highway or heavy-civil construction projects, with a proven track record in a similar role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Power BI), Oracle P6 Scheduling Software, and Autodesk AutoCAD or Bentley MicroStation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities.
  • Capable of working effectively under pressure in both field and office environments.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in various outdoor conditions and navigate construction sites.
  • Active involvement in on-site project management and quality control.
