About the Role

We are seeking an Engineering Co-op Student (Fall term) to join our team at our Brantford, ON bakery. As an Engineering Co-op, you will support the Project Engineer in driving product development, manufacturing improvements, and facility upgrade initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and production capabilities.

Shift & Schedule 

  • Shift: Morning (Monday- Friday)
  • Hours: 8 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Weekend Availability: Required 


Compensation 

  • Hourly Rate: $27

Core Accountabilities (What You'll be Doing)

  • Support engineering and manufacturing improvement projects to enhance production efficiency
  • Develop and update plant layouts and technical drawings using AutoCAD
  • Collaborate on equipment installations and new product start-ups within the facility
  • Contribute to process optimization and line efficiency improvement initiatives
  • Assist in project design, layout planning, and implementation activities
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety standards, and health & safety policies
  • Maintain accurate documentation, SOP adherence, and support continuous improvement efforts

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

  • Experience in a food manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Exposure to process improvement or lean manufacturing concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
