Job description

Our partner, a leader in occupied multifamily renovations is seeking a Project Engineer I to support the Project Management team in the successful execution of occupied multifamily renovation projects within Central Florida. This role assists with project documentation, subcontractor coordination, owner communication, scheduling, and administrative project management functions from preconstruction through closeout.


The ideal candidate will have prior Project Engineer experience or field leadership experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent and is looking to grow into a long-term project management career within multifamily renovation construction.


Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination and administrative tasks.
  • Prepare, distribute, and track Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Prepare, distribute, and track Submittals and maintain associated logs.
  • Assist with Change Order Requests and Subcontract Change Orders.
  • Maintain project documentation and filing systems in OneDrive and project management software.
  • Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes, including Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings.
  • Assist with project schedule updates and progress tracking.
  • Support subcontractor coordination and follow-up on outstanding project items.
  • Assist with owner reporting and weekly project updates.
  • Help prepare monthly draw packages and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in project closeout by gathering warranties, manuals, as-builts, and required turnover documents.
  • Support energy rebate submissions and other project-specific documentation requirements.
  • Participate in project site visits and job walks as needed.
  • Maintain a working understanding of project budgets, scopes, and schedules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent, or in a similar construction role.
  • Candidates with field experience who are interested in transitioning into project management are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience supporting multifamily, commercial, renovation, or occupied housing projects preferred.
  • Basic understanding of construction documents, blueprint reading, construction sequencing, and project coordination.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar construction software is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites throughout the Tampa, Orlando, and Daytona regions.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
