Job description

Salary: $80,000 - $125,000

We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role works closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and field teams to coordinate technical and administrative aspects of the project.

The Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager plays a key role in managing documentation, facilitating communication, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality standards.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in coordinating project activities and trade partners
  • Participate in project meetings, track action items, and ensure follow-through
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement, and shop drawings, ensuring timely and accurate processing
  • Maintain organized project documentation, logs, and records in Procore or similar systems
  • Assist with project scheduling, tracking progress, and identifying potential delays
  • Support change order management, cost tracking, and budget alignment
  • Review drawings and specifications to identify conflicts or missing information
  • Coordinate inspections, permits, and compliance documentation
  • Assist field teams in maintaining quality standards and resolving issues
  • Promote and support jobsite requirements and safety initiatives


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred)
  • 13 years of construction experience in a project engineering or coordination role
  • Familiarity with construction documents, RFIs, submittals, and project workflows
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Excel, or similar tools
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel to project sites
