Drilling Engineer - ACES
JOB SUMMARY
The Drilling Engineer will be accountable for engineering activity covering the planning, program preparation and execution of drilling and workover operations within the wells team. As part of the drilling engineering team, you will deliver engineering design, program preparation and operational support on new and existing wells. Working with multi-disciplinary teams, you will ensure drilling programs, program amendments and dispensations to policy are prepared on schedule and are adequately risk assessed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Perform engineering analysis of projects including calculations and equipment selection for all project phases.
• With a strong commitment to HSSE, take responsibility for planning and executing well designs and workover programs for an oil or gas well.
• Ensure drilling programs, program amendments and dispensations to policy are prepared on schedule and are adequately risk assessed.
• Work closely with resource teams, geologists, production and service company personnel to ensure an efficient operation.
• Estimate and control costs for wells activities
• Monitor all phases of the drilling operations, perform post-analyses for benchmarking and learning, and identify and implement appropriate new technologies.
• Travel to field locations to monitor and participate in drilling operations and perform third-party quality assurance and quality control.
• Make recommendations to engineering studies to improve drilling operational performance.
• Other duties will be assigned to this position as needs require.
• Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
• Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• Have a Bachelor's degree in a Petroleum Engineering.
• Knowledge of conducting reviews of drilling planning work
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
• Demonstrated experience working with multi-disciplinary teams
• Must be a strong team player
• Possess a Valid State Driver's License
• Have or be able to acquire a North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Professional Engineer License.
• Oil & Gas experience preferred
• Experience of working with third-party service providers preferred

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE
While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.
