Job description

Position: Utility Scale Solar and BESS Project Developer

Position Summary:

The Project Developer will develop and manage client’s solar and energy storage portfolio across the MISO and PJM regions and coordinate and review the work of multiple development functions, consultants, and others with remote, distributed team. This position will work closely with interconnection, permitting, real estate, GIS, legal and engineering team to achieve project and company goal.

Essential Job Functions:

· Identify and evaluate suitable sites, structure and negotiate commercial transactions with landowners

· Engage with landowners, community leaders and environmental organizations to provide information throughout the development process

· Manage development activities of solar and BESS projects from feasibility to the start of construction

· Manage the zoning, environmental, permitting, land rights entitlements and compliance processes

· Engage, manage, and direct third party consultants and development partners

· Develop viable and economically sustainable new and existing solar or BESS projects

· Develop target scope of work and ensure projects are progressing on schedule and within budget

· Remain abreast of renewable energy opportunities in the United States and the national industry trends impacting the future of solar and renewable development opportunities and their competitiveness as they relate to customers

· Carry out other duties as assigned

Requirements:

· Experience developing renewable energy projects in the MISO or PJM regions

· Skilled in project management with the ability to identify and resolve potential project flaws and to prioritize critical path tasks

· General understanding of renewable energy market trends and the resulting impacts on solar project development

· Self-motivated and able to work effectively individually as well as with a team

· Ability to thrive in quickly changing environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously

· Outgoing customer focus

· Excellent problem-solving ability and ability to think on their feet

· Strong analytical skills

· Excellent communication, project planning and execution, time management, and problem solving skills required.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel

Education/Experience

· 5+ years of project development experience in MISO or PJM, preferably in solar, renewable energy, or real estate development sectors

· Permitting expertise preferred

· Bachelor's Degree required
