About this Role

The Business Development Director drives revenue growth while serving as a key point of contact for our customers. This role blends proactive sales, relationship management, and brand representation. This individual will also represent the company at trade shows and industry events, helping expand our market presence.

The position will work from their home or one of our offices. It is preferred that the candidate reside in Indiana, Ohio, Viriginia, or West Virginia. There will be frequent travel. The amount of travel will depend on the where the candidate resides.

What You'll Do Sales & Business Development
  • Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing.
  • Develop and execute strategic outreach plans
Customer Relationship Management
  • Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
  • Collaborate with customers to identify opportunities for additional services.
  • Address customer needs, concerns, and inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Review contracts and make recommendations to Executive Management.
Trade Shows and Industry Events
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
  • Coordinate event participation, including booth setup and materials.
  • Engage with attendees, generate leads, and promote company offerings.
  • Follow up on leads generated from events.
What You'll Bring EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent knowledge or skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 5+ years or sales, business development, commercial operations, or account management experience. Preferred experience in the Electric power, generation, transmission, and distribution industry.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Understanding of sales processes, pipeline management, and lead generation strategies.
  • Knowledge of the company's services, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Negotiation and persuasive selling techniques.
  • Organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to build and foster relationships with team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to conduct self in an appropriate manner as a representative of SEC, working effectively in a diverse work environment.
