Job description

Soltage.
Associate of Development (Solar).

Company Overview:
Soltage is a leader in the development, financing, and operation of distributed utility-scale solar, storage and solar + storage assets for commercial, industrial, municipal, and utility customers across the United States. Soltage has developed more than 125 solar energy projects, with more than 600 MW total distributed generating capacity in operation or under construction and invested over $1.5 billion to date into the US clean energy sector.
Position Description:
Soltage is seeking an Associate of Development to join its Solar and Solar + Storage Team. As a junior team member, the Associate of Development will be exposed to all aspects of Solar and Solar + Storage project development, including site control, permitting, interconnection and offtake, as well as preparing projects for financing and construction. The Associate of Development will also work on new target markets as part of Soltage’s expansion plans. Some travel is expected. This position is an excellent opportunity to commence a career in the Renewable Energy industry but is also an opportunity for career change (e.g., moving from a Legal or Engineering background into a Business Development role, or from Real Estate into Renewable Energy). While this is an entry-level role, there is a possibility for the establishment of accelerated advancement for an experienced developer candidate.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Engage with development partners and vendors supplying resources during project development and manage their deliverables.
  • Assist team and participate in site visits for prospective solar projects, work with landowners to lease sites.
  • Attend public meetings to achieve state and local project approvals.
  • Input project parameters for financial modeling purposes.
  • Assist members of the development team in day-to-day tasks, resulting in acquiring the skills and knowledge to take the lead on developing successful solar projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and hold at least a BA/BS college or university degree.
  • Minimum of six months of prior work experience in a Business Development, Sales, Public Policy, Legal, or Solar Engineering function (for new graduates, previous summer positions can meet this requirement).  Solar experience is valuable, but no solar experience is required for this position.
  • Willingness to travel for in-person meetings necessary to fulfill work responsibilities.
  • An unexpired and valid US driver’s license is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Proficiency with Salesforce, Excel and/or AI is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines in an ever-changing environment.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and successfully across various teams and present updates to management.
  • Sound judgement and effective decision-making skills.

Location:
