Job description

Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager, Energy will assist the Energy Project Manager in the planning, execution, and delivery of energy-related projects, including energy efficiency upgrades, renewable energy installations (solar, etc.), building decarbonization, and infrastructure improvements in NYC facilities. The role involves coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, managing project budgets and schedules, and conducting client-facing activities. The selected candidate would be responsible for supporting Audit, Design, and Construction phase energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support project development and construction management activities.
  • Assist in coordinating project activities with both internal and external teams
  • Support team in planning work and developing solutions to technical problems
  • Track project performance, risks, change orders, and reporting on budgets, timelines, and energy savings.
  • Support multiple projects at once, ranging from small-scale tasks to portions of larger initiatives, working under the guidance of the Energy Project Manager or engineering staff

Requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mechanical or electrical)

Experience:
  • 3-7 years of project management or project support experience in energy, utilities, renewables, or construction
  • Demonstrated success supporting energy efficiency, renewable energy, or building decarbonization projects.
  • Experience in NYC market and familiarity with local laws (e.g., LL88, LL97) strongly preferred
  • Experience with DCAS, NYC DOE, NYPA, or other public agencies strongly preferred

Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work on interdisciplinary teams
  • Ability to interpret construction documents
  • Understanding of project development and construction process
  • Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Proroce.), budgeting, and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Problem-solving mindset

Certifications (Preferred):
  • PMP, DBIA, PE, CEM

Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 per year
