Job Title: Assistant Project Manager-Field Operations
Work Location: Atlanta, GA

Position Summary:
Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and motivated Assistant Project Manager-Field Operations to support the day-to-day management of field personnel across multiple projects and locations. This position serves as a critical link between field staff, Program Managers, Human Resources, and Accounting to ensure personnel issues are addressed promptly, timesheets and expenses are processed accurately, reporting requirements are met, and projects remain adequately staffed. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills and is interested in developing into a future Project Manager role. Candidates hired locally will report to the Atlanta office to support project, operational, and business needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Personnel Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for field employee personnel matters.
  • Coordinate onboarding, transfers, staffing changes, and employee communications.
  • Assist supervisors and Project Managers in resolving employee concerns and workplace issues.
  • Monitor employee compliance with company policies and client requirements.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and workforce planning efforts.

Project and Program Support:
  • Coordinate with Federal Program Managers and Non-Federal Project Managers regarding staffing needs and project assignments.
  • Track personnel utilization and workload distribution.
  • Assist with project startup and closeout activities.
  • Support resource planning across multiple projects and locations.

Timesheet and Expense Administration:
  • Review and monitor employee timesheet submissions for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Follow up with employees and supervisors regarding missing or incorrect time entries.
  • Coordinate expense report reviews and resolve discrepancies.
  • Work closely with Payroll and Accounting to ensure compliance with company and client requirements.

Reporting and Compliance:
  • Ensure weekly and monthly project reports are completed and submitted on schedule.
  • Compile staffing, labor utilization, project status, and operational metrics reports.
  • Support contract compliance and reporting requirements for federal and commercial clients.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation for audits and management review.

Performance Management:
  • Assist Project Managers and Department Managers with employee performance evaluations.
  • Track evaluation schedules and ensure reviews are completed on time.
  • Support employee development planning and training initiatives.
  • Help identify high-potential employees for future leadership development.

Communication and Coordination:
  • Serve as a liaison between field personnel, project leadership, HR, Payroll, and Accounting.
  • Facilitate communication regarding staffing changes, project assignments, and operational issues.
  • Participate in regular operational meetings and provide status updates to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience supporting engineering, construction, consulting, or technical service projects.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively with both office and field personnel.

Preferred:
  • Experience with federal contracts (USACE, NASA, GSA, DOT, etc.).
  • Experience reviewing timesheets, labor reporting, and expense reports.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and resource planning.
  • Experience supervising or coordinating field personnel.
