The Project Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Project Managers in the execution of their projects. The Project Coordinator must work closely with engineering, drafting, purchasing and construction members of the project team including external suppliers of products and services where applicable. This position is also involved with coordinating material takeoffs, material pricing, erection subcontracts, drawing reviews, scheduling, and participating in the interface with customer.

Structure:

The Project Coordinator reports directly to the Director, Projects with day-to-day direction provided by Project Managers on their specific projects.

Position Overview:

  • Works with the design team to ensure the engineering design meets the requirements of the project specifications
  • Coordinates resolution of design issues that arise during execution of the project
  • Coordinates Subcontractors and Vendors under the direction of the Project Manager
  • Assists in the development of short and long-term strategies and schedules for current projects
  • Tracks, monitors and communicates progress and issues to the Project Manager
  • Tracks, monitors and reports on Safety stats to the Project Manager
  • Operates within ISO Quality system and company safety policy in all phases of assignments
  • Safety, Cost, Schedule and Quality related to work executed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • A Diploma or technical certificate. Post-secondary qualification in Engineering preferred
  • Good ability to read project and building drawings.
  • Must have minimum of 5 years prior experience working on industrial projects. Some related field construction experience preferred
  • Maunfacturing experience is also an asset
  • Design build and general contracting experience is an asset.
  • A self-starter with experience working in a team environment
  • Proficient using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project scheduling software
  • Knowledge of ProCore is an asset
