Job description

Senior Project Coordinator - Starting salary of $80,000, with flexibility based on experience.

Cambridge, Ontario | Projects Across the Greater Toronto Area

Build Your Career with Traugott

Traugott Building Contractors Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Project Coordinator to join our Ontario construction team. This position will report through our Cambridge Head Office and support active construction projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding markets.

We are looking for someone with strong General Contractor experience who understands the complete construction lifecycle and can confidently coordinate a project from preconstruction and mobilization through construction, turnover and closeout.

This is not an entry-level coordination role. The successful candidate will be comfortable taking ownership, anticipating what comes next and working closely with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, consultants, clients and trade partners to keep projects moving.

What You'll Do

As Senior Project Coordinator, you will provide full-cycle project coordination including:

  • Support projects from preconstruction through final closeout
  • Coordinate drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals and shop drawings
  • Manage and maintain project documentation through Procore
  • Assist with tendering, trade procurement and subcontractor coordination
  • Prepare and track contracts, purchase orders and project documentation
  • Coordinate with consultants, architects, engineers, owners and subcontractors
  • Track RFIs, submittals, change events, change orders and outstanding project items
  • Assist with project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting and monthly reporting
  • Support Project Managers with change management and subcontractor pricing
  • Work closely with Site Superintendents to resolve field coordination issues
  • Assist with project schedules, look-aheads and tracking of critical milestones
  • Monitor procurement requirements and long-lead items
  • Coordinate project meetings, minutes and follow-up items
  • Support quality control, inspections and deficiency management
  • Coordinate turnover documentation, warranties, O&M manuals and project closeout
  • Identify potential schedule, cost, scope and coordination issues before they impact the project
  • Maintain strong communication between the office, site, consultants, clients and trade partners
  • Demonstrated commitment to Health & Safety and to promoting a culture where safe work practices, accountability and compliance are part of everyday project delivery.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of Project Coordinator/Senior Project Coordinator experience, preferably with a General Contractor
  • Demonstrated experience supporting projects through the full construction lifecycle
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and contracts
  • Experience with RFIs, submittals, change management, procurement and project controls
  • Working knowledge of construction budgets, cost reporting and scheduling
  • Strong experience with Procore is preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across active construction projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently while being part of an integrated project team
  • Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architectural Technology or a related discipline is preferred
  • Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to project sites throughout the GTA as required

The Person We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who doesn't simply process paperwork.

You understand why an RFI matters, recognize when a submittal is holding up procurement, know when a long-lead item could affect the schedule and understand how scope gaps and changes ultimately impact the project's cost and delivery.

You are comfortable asking questions, following through and holding yourself and others accountable for commitments.

Most importantly, you understand that successful project coordination is about keeping information, people, cost and schedule moving together.

Why Traugott?

At Traugott, our Project Coordinators are an important part of the project delivery team and have the opportunity to work closely with experienced construction leaders while continuing to develop toward future Project Management opportunities.

We offer a collaborative construction environment, diverse projects and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in delivering successful projects across Ontario.

Location: Cambridge Head Office / GTA Project Sites

Position: Full-Time, Senior Project Coordinator

Industry: General Contracting / Construction

Starting salary of $80,000, with flexibility based on experience.
