Job description

Job Title: Construction Project Coordinator

Job Description

The Construction Project Coordinator supports the successful planning, execution, and completion of construction projects by coordinating schedules, documentation, resources, and communication among all project stakeholders. This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to help ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with established quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate overall project schedules, ensuring activities are properly sequenced and aligned with the construction timeline.
  • Support Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project coordination and communication.
  • Manage construction documentation, including organizing, tracking, and updating project files and records.
  • Assist with budget tracking and reporting, monitoring costs and helping to identify variances.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including subcontractors, consultants, and clients, to share updates and resolve issues.
  • Identify project risks and issues early and collaborate with the team to develop and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support the preparation and processing of construction documents such as contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and permits, as applicable.
  • Help maintain accurate logs and reports related to project progress, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Collaborate with project team members to ensure smooth coordination between office and field operations.
  • Contribute to problem-solving efforts by gathering information, proposing options, and supporting decision-making.
  • Maintain high attention to detail in all aspects of project coordination to support quality and compliance requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 2 years of experience, including co-ops or internships, working for a general contractor or subcontractor as a Project Coordinator or in construction operations.
  • Experience with construction project scheduling and coordination.
  • Experience managing construction documentation and project records.
  • Ability to track and report on project budgets and financial information.
  • Strong attention to detail in reviewing and managing project information.

  • Understanding of construction contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and permitting processes.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager) certification preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
