Job Description
We are looking for a full time Facilities and Equipment Technician. Responsibilities include the operation, maintenance and repair of bio-manufacturing building facilities and various wafer processing equipment. This position will also coordinate outside contractors or vendors for various services.
Essential Functions
• Acts as the primary contact for all outsourced services related to building/facilities issues (climate control, spills, damage, emergencies and repairs)
• May act as the project coordinator for all size projects including large scale repair and new facility construction projects
• Solicits bids and quotes from vendors
• Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by the Management
• Provides and adds corrections to Standard Operating Procedures and assists engineers in evaluating new equipment or technology.
• Operates laboratory equipment/instruments in support of production efforts
• Troubleshoots and/or replaces equipment and components as necessary.
• Assists in maintaining all aspects of a bio-engineering cleanroom operation
Qualifications
Skills:
• Basic Knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of wafer handling/processing is required.
• Must be able to effectively communicate (oral and written) with all levels of employees, contractors and vendors
• Demonstrated ability to work in an ISO class 6 cleanroom environment
• Self-starter and team player
• Must be organized and demonstrate excellent recordkeeping
Knowledge:
• Associates degree or similar, advanced degree a plus.
• Minimum 2 year work experience with vendor management, facilities and/or maintenance.
• Experience in wafer processing under strict environmental controls is preferred.
Abilities:
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to prioritize and manage multi-functional tasks
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, and against strict time constraints
• Ability to use tools, test equipment etc.
Working Conditions:
• Be able to walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl and reach for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be comfortable and able to work on a ladder
• Must be able to work independently without direct supervision if necessary
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on daily work requirements
