Job description

IT Project Financial Analyst II requires:

  • High school diploma/GED with equivalent experience or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related major and minimum two (2) years of experience in project financial analysis, FP&A, cost analysis, or project controls
  • Demonstrated experience owning budgets and forecasts for a portfolio of projects
  • Working knowledge of project-accounting concepts (capital vs. expense, capitalization, estimate-at-completion forecasting)
  • Experience with enterprise ERP / project-accounting systems (Oracle or similar)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; hands-on experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI
  • Comfort with AI-powered productivity and analytics tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot), and the curiosity to apply them to financial analysis and reporting, is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to partner effectively across the PMO, IT, and Finance
  • Self-directed and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Teams, SharePoint) and Power BI
  • Demonstrates familiarity with and application of Project Life Cycle

DUTIES:

  • Consult on budgets, monthly forecasts (estimate-at-completion), and cash-flow / spend curves for a book of assigned IT projects
  • Analyze project financial performance by understanding how to track actuals against plan, identifying variances, and provide insights and recommendations to project managers and stakeholders
  • Manage analysis of multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining accurate records around complex workflows
  • Support the Project Change Request (PCR) process by evaluating and quantifying financial impacts, risks, and funding requirements associated with proposed changes
  • Parter with Finance to support capital vs. expense classification, capitalization activities, funding requests, accruals and the monthly close process
