JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Project Controls Specialist, serving in a high-level support role, is accountable for supporting the Project Control Lead and Capital Program Management team to deliver and complete capital projects on time and within budget.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Project Controls Specialist is accountable for the creation, management, and reporting of project schedules. This includes developing schedule templates, schedule quality reviews, adhere to company standards, schedule baseline monitoring, and schedule status updates. The Project Controls Specialist is also accountable for maintaining accurate cost-loaded schedules through close coordination with the Project Controls Lead, the Capital Program Management Team, and construction contractors.
This is achieved by efficient use of time through good organizational skills, knowledge of project scopes, and resolving issues and questions during a project in an expeditious manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
โ€ข Completes project set-up in Trimble Unity Construct, formerly e-Builder, software
โ€ข Analyzes data, reviews logs, and runs reports in the Trimble Unity Construct or other tools
โ€ข Creates Work Breakdown Structures and links to Cost Breakdown Structures
โ€ข Develops, implements, and maintains effective scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flows, and forecasts for multiple capital projects
โ€ข Follows project execution plans
โ€ข Helps with engineering, procurement, construction planning, scheduling, logistics, and cost control
โ€ข Supports the Project Controls Lead in responding to technical questions from the project team
โ€ข Inputs and documents changes to cost reports or forecasts
โ€ข Interfaces with the project team to review project and contingency costs and support external audits
โ€ข Creates and presents cash flow reports
โ€ข Develops various levels of schedules
โ€ข Applies and reviews the entry of logic ties within the schedules
โ€ข Monitors resource loading of a schedule
โ€ข Supports interactive project planning and construction work in progress meetings
โ€ข Verifies that the various schedule reports are in the appropriate reporting format
โ€ข Creates, reviews, and analyzes pre-programmed project scheduling reports and back-up documentation for accuracy
โ€ข Consults with the project team on schedule progress
โ€ข Analyzes and evaluates the scheduling method, such as critical path and scheduling techniques, estimating, project cost management, earned value, and forecasting
โ€ข Performs schedule what-if scenarios
โ€ข Assists with the development and maintenance of dashboards in Power BI.
โ€ข Performs quality checks and inspections on project control deliverables
โ€ข Complies with all policies and standards
โ€ข Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
โ€ข Bachelor's Degree in engineering, construction management, or related field and 5 years of direct project control experience required
โ€ข Prior experience with critical path scheduling, project cost management, estimating, and document control required
โ€ข Accounting knowledge preferred
โ€ข Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement
โ€ข Experience with Trimble Unity Construct (e-Builder) preferred
โ€ข Ability to facilitate and produce detailed construction schedules and interface those construction schedules with engineering and procurement activities
โ€ข Excellent written and verbal communication skills
โ€ข Excellent interpersonal skills
โ€ข Proficient with Microsoft Office

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
โ€ข Must be willing to travel as required by project needs. Travel can be up to one (1) overnight stay per month and turnaround full-day trips, by car or by air, up to two (2) days per month
โ€ข May include but is not limited to standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping and crouching, sitting, typing, walking, reading, writing, color determination, speaking, and listening for extended periods of time

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws. Multiple factors are used to determine the actual starting rate of pay for all of our positions, including specific skills, years of experience, education, certification(s), and other job related factors.
