JLL is growing! We are currently seeking dynamic individuals for the role of Project Manager (PM) in either Calgary and Edmonton. The PM will provide reliable, timely, and professional leadership of day-to-day project management activities for major capital projects in the public and private sectors. The position entails working with a diverse group of internal and external Stakeholders at all levels of their organizations, and the successful candidate will require the independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse workload. We will rely on your expertise to deliver exceptional project management supervision and superior client service and help grow the business.

This role will be required to travel as needed to client sites within the local area and potentially nation-wide.

What this job involves

Project Management:

  • Ensuring projects are completed within scope, schedule, budget, and meeting client expectations.
  • Managing multiple projects in various phases of development.
  • Negotiating and holding all parties accountable to their contracted services.
  • Managing and coordinating the activities of large project teams including owners, design consultants, contractors, suppliers, AHJs, security, AV and IT vendors, operators, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinating between base building and tenant improvement scope and negotiating with landlords.
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining specified project management processes.
  • Proactively communicating with clients; maintaining project status and tracking reports.
  • Detailed financial and schedule management and reporting.
  • Utilizing a custom project management platform/technology.
  • Leading project meetings; ensuring minutes are quickly distributed and properly filed.
  • Proactively foreseeing and documenting project risks and risk mitigation plans.
  • Actively troubleshooting, problem solving and tracking project performance indicators.
  • Managing JLL's financial performance per project.

  • Fostering a project environment of accountability, excellence, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Energizing, supervising, mentoring, and supporting others on your team.

Relationships:

  • Cultivating new and existing business relationships.
  • Collaborating with JLL peers, partners and clients.
  • Building trust with owners, landlords, developers, institutions, consultants, and contractors.

  • Leading pursuit strategy, sourcing, positioning, proposing, and securing of new projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Location:
    • Calgary or Edmonton
    • Preference is an established local candidate with significant PM experience in the subject City having knowledge of its market, clients, contractors, consultants, and AHJs.
  • Mandatory Requirements:
    • 5+ years of Professional Consulting experience as an Owner's Representative Project Manager
    • Led major capital projects of from inception to completion without supervision
    • Cross-sector experience delivering projects in Commercial, Industrial, Retail, and Institutional, buildings
    • Project Controls experience in all aspects: Financial, Schedule, Quality, Risk, Procurement
    • Demonstrated client relationship management skills
    • Strong analytical skills and solution development
    • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
    • Expert verbal and written communication skills
    • Attention to detail and ability to drive consistency in a team or on a project
    • Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe and Microsoft Project
    • Scheduling, estimating, cost control experience
    • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and demanding environment
    • Ability to travel as needed in Western Canada
  • Preferred Attributes
    • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Project Management, Construction Management Sciences, Real Estate Development, Architecture, Planning, and/or Engineering
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation
    • LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) or other recognized designation in Sustainability
    • Lease and real estate transaction negotiation knowledge
    • Public sector infrastructure project experience (healthcare, education, government)
