As a Project Controls Engineer, you will support our project controls program, ensuring that our projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will be at the forefront of prime contract management, scheduling, cost control and contract change management, making a real impact on the success of multiple projects within a district. What you will be doing
  • Reviews and analyzes contract management records to provide technical advice and project control guidance.
  • Assists with cost controls reporting and reconciliation for one District or Mega Project, providing reports to the Project Controls Director for Division-level summaries.
  • Supports the scheduling process for District or Mega Projects, including bid phase, project schedule creation, monthly reporting, and schedule updates.
  • Aids in the integration of company systems to track, monitor, and control costs or schedules, ensuring accurate training and utilization of approved systems for project document control and reporting.
  • Conducts regular project reviews and monitors job cost reports against key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Coordinates with the Division Claims/Contract Manager to track and monitor change order and claims preparation and resolution.
  • Tracks activities related to unsecured revenue and project contingencies.
  • Monitors and controls project cash flow by tracking over/under billing.
  • Assists with resource and cost loading to the schedule, including labor projections, equipment and material projections, and productivity trend reporting to accurately forecast project costs and financial outcomes.

What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
  • 3+ years' experience in construction engineering, project management or project controls required.
  • Experience with complex scheduling and cost control processes required.
  • Knowledge of construction contract agreements and change order processes required.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, including construction accounting, required.
  • Able to identify cost reduction strategies in schedule, quantities or contract specifications that align with project budget and design specification requirements.
