Job Overview:
A leading aerospace and defense manufacturing company is seeking a Project Scheduler II to support high-visibility aircraft development and production programs in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is a long-term contract opportunity supporting technical program teams responsible for complex aerospace components, engineering deliverables, schedule execution, and program milestones.
This role is ideal for a hands-on project scheduler who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and confident working with cross-functional engineering, program management, contracts, and operations teams. The Project Scheduler will play a key role in building, maintaining, tracking, and reporting program schedules using Microsoft Project.
The ideal candidate will have strong MS Project experience, a background supporting technical, aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or engineering programs, and the ability to help drive schedule discipline across multiple stakeholders. Experience with U.S. Department of Defense development programs and Earned Value Management Systems is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project.
- Support aerospace and defense program teams by tracking milestones, deliverables, schedule status, and program progress.
- Collect weekly schedule updates from assigned program stakeholders and prepare schedule status reporting.
- Monitor project performance against established plans, schedules, milestones, and program objectives.
- Support program management teams with schedule coordination, variance reporting, and corrective action tracking.
- Assist with the integration of Earned Value Management System metrics into program schedules when required.
- Help prepare schedule inputs for program reviews, internal status meetings, and customer-facing reporting.
- Coordinate with engineering, program management, contract administration, operations, and other internal teams to ensure schedule accuracy and alignment.
- Identify schedule risks, delays, resource conflicts, and potential impacts to program timelines.
- Support documentation and milestone closure throughout each project phase.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- 2+ years of project scheduling, program scheduling, project controls, or related experience.
- Hands-on experience using Microsoft Project is required.
- Experience supporting technical, engineering, aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or complex development programs.
- Strong ability to collect, organize, analyze, and communicate schedule data.
- Ability to work onsite full-time in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
- Strong attention to detail, follow-up, and ownership of schedule updates.
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced technical environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and present schedule updates in meetings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting aerospace, aviation, defense, aircraft, or DoD programs.
