Job description
This role is a proactive leadership role that is responsible for all project services functions and resources in the project. The Project Controls Manager should bring an assurance to the company that the project meets all commercial, financial, documentation, cost and schedule requirements utilizing Project Controls best practices. This position serves as single point of contact for the Director of project Services, reporting operationally to the Project Manager or Sr. PCM.
Role & Responsibilities (PCM):
  • Oversee the performance of project services on the project, Planning and Scheduling, Risk, Document control, administration, Fiscal Integrity, Change Management, Contract Business process compliance and maximizing margin, project stakeholder's interface, facilitation and resolution of issues that may impact project objectives.
  • Oversees all non-technical areas of the project, acts as the commercial arm of the project supporting the Project manager/Director
  • Leads the reporting efforts and oversees the project Controllers, document controllers and Schedulers in the preparation of weekly and monthly reports, KPI dashboards, Internal Management Report (IMR), document tracker, project schedule trend tool etc.
  • Work on initiatives to improve processes and procedures, aggregate and analyze project/portfolio information to support the decision making process.
  • Review all commercial activities of a project, or operation, and the facilitation of such activity to ensure compliance is achieved.
  • Supports the development of the Project Controls execution Plan for the project and leads the Project Setup process in the Cost Control System.
  • Responsible for Cost Forecast (LOP) and schedule in the project.
  • Oversees document management assuring compliance with project schedule and client requirements
  • Overall responsible for monthly reports (internal a& external) quality and correctness, can present project status to regional leadership
  • Interacts with Engineering and PMT teams to make sure all changes are captured and processed.
  • Produces, analyzes and report project KPIs, leading and lagging financial/schedule and document information, provides strategic view to PM/PD
  • Anticipates and provide mitigations to project risks
  • Participates and drives Change order negotiations with Clients and estimates change order scenarios.
  • Supports internal and external audits, and project quality activities.
  • Support contract manager with the interpretation of T&Cs.
  • Guarantees the proper execution of Project Close-out.
  • Leads and Works with others to resolve problems.
  • Ensures accurate and timely communication to involved parties.
  • This role requires several skills, including self-motivation, initiative, resourcefulness, confidence, dependability, organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.

The ideal candidate for this role meets the following :
  • 7+ progressive experience in project controls, planning, cost or engineering, project/product planning or similar provable experience
  • Planning and Planning tools knowledge (Primavera, MS Project) - preferred
  • Good understanding of Risk management & risk management processes
  • Good understanding of project execution (EPC, iEPCI, T&I etc)
  • Ability to evaluate and resolve problems quickly and independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for inter-departmental and customer interaction.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English, strong vocabulary and grammatical skills, and an eye for attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & PowerBI a plus).
  • Must have the ability to handle many diverse tasks simultaneously and be able to work effectively with interruptions.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks in a high-volume environment.
  • Must be a self-starter attitude with proactive, results-oriented focus; and willing and capable to assume additional responsibilities.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to interface with a variety of people with different technical levels and educational backgrounds; must be able to produce accurate and timely results while maintaining a customer-service attitude.
  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information or issues
  • Demonstrates strong organizational, interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills.
