Job description

  Position Summary

The Project Controls Specialist supports the execution of capital projects within our project execution group. Reporting to the Program Controls Manager, you will own project-level schedule and cost tracking, maintain accurate baselines, and produce reporting that drives informed decision-making across the project team. 

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules in Primavera P6, and/or Microsoft Project, including progress updates, critical path analysis and look-ahead reports
  • Track and report project costs against approved budgets, including commitments, actuals, and forecasts to complete (ETC/EAC).
  • Support in preparing regular projects controls reports covering schedule performance, cost performance, earned value metrics and variance analysis
  • Support change management processes by analyzing schedule and cost impacts of potential changes and incorporating approved changes into project baselines.
  • Coordinate with project manager, project engineers, procurement and site teams to gather accurate progress data and cost information.
  • Identify schedule risks and cost trends early; escalate deviations with supporting analysis
  • Assist in developing project controls deliverables during project setup, including WBS development, baseline schedules, and cost breakdown structures.
  • Support the Program Controls Manager in developing program-level roll-ups and executive dashboards.
 Key Qualifications
  • 4-6 years of project controls experience on industrial, manufacturing, or capital construction projects
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project; ability to build and maintain schedules independently
  • Working knowledge of earned value management (EVM) concepts
  • Familiarity with EPC or owner-operated project environments
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple concurrent project workstreams
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting data to project teams
 Additional Qualifications Desired
  • Curiosity or hands-on experimentation with AI tools e.g. using LLMs for report drafting, data interpretation or automating repetitive controls tasks.
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools
  • Background in energy, utilities or heavy industrial sectors.

Salary Range:  $138,000 USD - $165,000 USD

Salary Basis:  Annual

The actual salary offered will be within the posted range and determined based on several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experiences, credentials and expertise, as they pertain to the position's requirements.
