Quality Control Coordinator

Position Overview

The Quality Control (QC) Coordinator supports execution of quality control activities for a large-scale electrical construction project. This role is responsible for assisting with inspections, documentation control, and verification of electrical installations to ensure compliance with contract requirements, applicable codes and standards, and Hays Electrical Services’ Corporate Quality Management System (CQMS).

The QC Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining inspection readiness, accurate documentation, and day-to-day quality tracking to support successful installation, energization readiness, and system turnover within HES’ defined scope of work.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of the Site-Specific Quality Plan (SSQP) and QMS within the project’s electrical scope.
  • Assist with reviewing drawings, specifications, and submittals to understand installation and inspection requirements.
  • Perform routine field inspections of electrical installations and prefabricated assemblies
  • Verify installation compliance with basic requirements including labeling, grounding/bonding, and general workmanship standards.
  • Assist in tracking Definable Features of Work (DFOW) and required inspection points.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain inspection records, test reports, and photographic documentation.
  • Assist in verifying completion of required electrical testing (e.g., continuity, insulation resistance, torque logs).
  • Support commissioning and energization readiness efforts by ensuring documentation is complete and accessible.
  • Participate in system walkdowns and assist in punchlist tracking and closeout activities.
  • Assist in identifying and documenting Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and tracking corrective actions to closure.
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready quality documentation in accordance with SSQP and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with field supervision leadership to communicate inspection status and deficiencies.
  • Support weekly reporting by tracking inspection progress, NCR status, and documentation completeness.
  • Ensure all activities remain within HES authority, focused on inspection, verification, and documentation support within electrical scope.
     

Education & Qualifications

Required

  • 2–5 years of experience in electrical construction, QA/QC support, or related field experience.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and construction practices.
  • Familiarity with NEC and general electrical installation standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, and specifications (entry to intermediate level).
  • Experience supporting inspection documentation, reports, or construction recordkeeping.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills to work with field teams and project personnel.

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Associate degree in electrical, construction management, or related technical field.
  • Exposure to mission-critical or data center construction projects.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC processes such as ITPs, DFOW, or NCR tracking.
  • Experience with digital documentation platforms (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or similar).
