Work You'll Do

As a Project Consultant, Senior Transportation Analyst you will:

  • Develop, interpret, and oversee defense-wide transportation policies and regulatory frameworks
  • Apply deep technical knowledge of the Defense Transportation System (DTS) and defense Transportation and Traffic Management policies. 
  • Support senior leaders in commercial transportation industry engagement and collaborate with senior leaders across defense, OMB, NSC, and other federal agencies. 
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of transportation functions and recommend actions to enhance military effectiveness, economy, and uniformity across operations. 
  • Conduct data analysis, reporting, and category management to inform decision-making and improve efficiency. 
  • Research industry best practices and recommend process improvements to reduce redundancy and costs.

  • Ability to work on-site in Alexandria, VA up to 5 days/week (typical week 2-3 days on-site)

Preferred: 

  • Experience with Maritime Administration (MARAD), Military Sealift Command (MSC), and Army Transportation Command (ARTRANS) operations
  • 1+ years of experience in sealift operations
  • Experience with VISA, VTA, Transportation Service Providers (TSP), and Maritime Security Program (MSP)
  • Experience with charter, commercial, and organic sealift requirements
  • Experience interpreting the Jones Act and cargo preference as related to sealift requirements
  • Experience in defense transportation management requirements and compliance
