Job description

Lynch & Associates is a growing multi-disciplinary consulting firm located in New Berlin and Burlington, Wisconsin with a family focused culture. Our core business includes civil engineering, surveying, construction observation, and municipal services. We provide innovative solutions through technology, inspired design, and client centric customer service. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Construction Project Manager to join our team.
Requirements and Experience:
  • 10 or more years of experience.
  • BS in Civil Engineering or recognized as a technical expert
  • PE Registration or Comparable Field/Testing Certifications
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage construction projects
  • Work independently
  • Manage the training and oversight of staff assigned to their projects
  • Observe construction activities and staff activities on site to ensure compliance and offer guidance regarding staff's capabilities to ensure Contractor performance is within project specifications, engineering drawings, and common industry practice
  • Field testing of concrete, soils, asphalt, and other construction materials may be required depending on contract and client services requested
  • Prepare written Project Daily / Diary Reports on the day-to-day work performed by the Contractor
  • Prepare bi-weekly construction status reports to include Contractor's completed work for prior two weeks, upcoming two-week work projection of Contractor activities, and contract financial updates to be sent to client
  • Review Contractor shop drawing submittals for conformance to the specifications
  • Calculate installed construction quantities
  • Lead construction meetings
  • Coordinate construction stakeout with survey as needed to meet construction schedules
  • Verification of Contractor pay requests with engineer and client as required
  • Coordinate construction related activities with the Project Engineer
  • Generate As-Built Plans and Record Drawings when required by contract
  • Assist Project Engineers with preliminary cost estimates, project maps, and grant applications
  • Prepare close-out documentation items per the owner's requirements and coordinate Record Drawings with the Contractor associated with the final construction
  • Have the ability to provide overtime to meet project deadlines
  • Perform Quality Control on all construction team project deliverables for assigned projects
  • Perform Constructability Reviews in coordination with Design Project Managers projects
  • Perform Quantity Take-Offs on engineering design projects
  • Assist in the assembly of construction specifications for projects
  • Assist with design help when consulted by design staff
  • Communicate with project teams in both home and other offices
  • Client management responsibilities within the projects they manage
  • Regular communication with clients and public agencies
  • Assist in proposals and contract preparation with all final contracts reviewed and approved by a Managing Member
  • Responsible for project budgeting, project billings, and AR
  • Assist in marketing responsibilities
  • No physical limitations that restrict the ability to work through inclement weather or terrain, remain standing or walking for several hours at a time, or lift 40 pounds
  • Maintain insurability under the Lynch & Associates Automotive policy to operate a company or personal vehicle to conduct business
  • Assist in any other assigned tasks in support of the Lynch & Associates team
