Title: Projects Assistant
Reports to: Project Quotations Manager or Service Center Leader
Direct reports: No direct reports.
Customers served: Summit Associates; all Summit customers including vendors, manufacturer's representatives, and other Summit suppliers.
Role Summary: This position is responsible for effectively managing the administrative aspects of projects. This includes organizing incoming project requests and communicating with appropriate representatives to get jobs ready for the sales team or other associates related to the job. The successful candidate will work closely with their team and their customers to create and assist in coordinating of the overall project which may include bill of material and project cost. Additionally, this position is responsible for sharing lessons learned from previous projects and assisting the project team with any issues.
Essential Job Functions:
• Send out requests for material and pricing to the appropriate representative.
• Communicate status of projects to the teams to include any changes that relate to the project(s).
• Assists customers in person, over the phone or internet with Summit product questions and orders
• Pays close attention to detail to ensure project success as measured by outlined scope, budget and timeline
• Partner with CSRs and Service Center Managers or other Summit associates as needed to maintain levels of excellence throughout Summit
• Build and maintain internal and external customer relationships
Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Strong customer service orientation
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written
• Time management - strong ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
• Flexibility - ability to effectively adapt to change
Beneficial Skills and Experience:
• 1-2 years of customer service experience in the electrical distribution industry
• Knowledge of related products
• Relationships with local manufacturer's representatives
Physical Challenges:
• Consistent sitting for hours at a time
• Consistent use of keyboard and mouse
• Must be able to lift 5 pounds on a regular and consistent basis
• Ability to climb stairs on occasion
• Majority of job is located inside office during regular office hours of operation
