Apex Companies is seeking an experiencedConstruction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) Project Administratorto oversee transportation projects. The ideal candidate will have experience managing transportation projects for local municipalities and / or FDOT. A proven track record working on projects withFDOT SCOP, SCRAP, and LAP grant fundingis a plus. 

Your Responsibilities as a Project Administrator:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for CEI services on FDOT and local agency transportation projects. 
  • Administer contracts, monitor budgets, and ensure adherence to project schedules. 
  • Oversee construction inspection teams and maintain compliance with FDOT specifications, standards, and procedures. 
  • Coordinate with the contractor, Engineer of Record and project staff to manage submittals, RFI's and pay applications 
  • Manage documentation and reporting requirements for grant-funded projects, including Davis-Bacon wage verification and LAP compliance. 
  • Coordinate with contractors, FDOT representatives, and / or local agencies to resolve issues and maintain project progress. 
  • Review and approve pay estimates, change orders, and project closeout documentation. 

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in CEI inspection and project administration for FDOT or local agencies on transportation projects. 
  • BS Engineering degree and 3 years CEI experience will be considered in lieu of 5 years' experience 
  • Strong knowledge of FDOT specifications and procedures 
  • Familiarity with roadway, drainage, and utility construction practices. 
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
  • FDOT CTQP certifications (Project Administrator, Earthwork, Asphalt, Concrete) required 
  • Proficiency in FDOT systems such as SiteManager and other project management tools preferred 
  • Fieldwork expected in SW FL region. 
  • Drivers license and excellent driving record required. 
  • Sponsorship not available now or in the future for this role.
