Job description

Job Description:

This position is project oriented and the work is broad and varied in scope.  Projects involve supporting and assisting Patient Accounting staff in the resolution of patient accounts with the Medicare/Medicaid Team. Works with insurance companies, government or patients to follow-up on collections of accounts. Temporary position.  

 Flexible work schedule, Monday through Friday.  Office is open from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

 To qualify, you must have:

  • Actively working towards college degree or recent graduate in the area of Business Management, Healthcare or related field required. Current college students will be considered.
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.  Must have above average proficiency with Windows style applications and keyboard. Must be proficient with Excel.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills; Excellent analytical problem solving skills required. 
  • Basic mathematical knowledge including understanding of debits and credits for correct account transactions.
  • Some knowledge of insurance preferred, but not required. 
  • Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, telephones, copiers, fax machine, 10 key adding machine.
  • Good previous work history required.

Must be available to work in Spring, Summer and Fall semesters.
