Job Title: Construction Project Accountant

Location: 75172

Assignment Type: Contract-to-Hire

Pay: $30–$35 per hour

Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week; Monday–Friday, on-site

A growing construction organization is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to support accounting and billing functions for active construction projects. This opportunity is well suited for someone who enjoys working closely with both accounting and field teams and has a strong understanding of construction-specific financial processes.

Job Description:

The Construction Project Accountant will oversee project-related accounting activities, with a primary focus on accounts receivable, invoicing, and construction billing. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working at job sites and communicating directly with project managers, superintendents, and field personnel to ensure financial and billing matters are addressed promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle accounts receivable and accounting functions for construction projects.
  • Prepare progress billings, owner payment requests, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate lien waivers, releases, bonds, and other project compliance paperwork.
  • Apply appropriate sales tax requirements to construction-related transactions.
  • Support billing activities involving owner-controlled and contractor-controlled insurance programs.
  • Review invoices and project documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Work directly with field and project personnel to research and resolve accounting questions.
  • Manage a substantial volume of project invoices and billing requests.
  • Utilize both automated processes and manual entry when completing billing and accounting tasks.
  • Maintain organized and accurate project financial records.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in construction accounting or project accounting required.
  • Solid understanding of construction accounts receivable and billing procedures.
