Admissions Counselor

Reports to: Director, Admissions

Total Base Pay Range: 50,000 - 60,000 USD Annual

The Admissions Counselor supports the mission of Ensign College by recruiting, guiding, and enrolling students who are aligned with the institution's faith-based education and career-centered learning model. This position serves as a key representative of the College, developing relationships with prospective students, families, counselors, community partners, seminary and institute leaders. The Admissions Counselor provides personalized support through each stage of the admissions process, contributes to recruitment initiatives, and collaborates with campus partners to achieve institutional enrollment goals.

Essential Job Functions

  • Represent Ensign College at high schools, transfer colleges, community events, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Wards and Stakes, and fairs within assigned territories.

  • Maintain a valid driver's license and ability to drive for recruitment travel.

  • Build and maintain relationships with counselors, seminary and institute leaders, community partners and key stakeholders.

  • Deliver presentations and information sessions to promote Ensign College.

  • Meet with prospective students in person and virtually to counsel students and families through the application and enrollment process.

  • Support major recruitment events, including Explore Ensign Day, College Connect, Ward and Stake Education Nights.

  • Engage in outreach to Hispanic, adult learner, domestic, and international populations.

  • Utilize CRM tools (Element451) to manage leads, track progress, and document interactions.

  • Review applications for completeness and compliance with admissions requirements.

  • Partner with Admissions Operations to resolve applicant questions and missing documents.

  • Collaborate with advising, first-year success, and financial aid teams to support student enrollment.

  • Provide feedback to leadership on recruitment trends and process improvements.

  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development.

  • Assist in training and coordinating Ensign College Ambassador recruitment efforts.

  • Available to work evenings and weekends for recruitment events and activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, including occasional support with admissions processing and office projects.


Skills & Abilities

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred to support outreach and communication with Hispanic students and families.

  • Proficient in communicating with various stakeholder groups. Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings or weekends.

  • Commitment to living and upholding the Ensign College Honor Code and aligning personal conduct with the mission and values of the Church Educational System.

Requirements for Employment Eligibility:

  • Membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

  • Worthiness to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.

  • Receive clearance from the Church Educational System Ecclesiastical Clearance Office.

  • Strict adherence to company policies and procedures.

  • Commitment to bring about the purposes of Ensign College.

  • Reside in Utah and able to work in person at our downtown Salt Lake City campus.
