COMPREHENSIVE YOUTH SERVICES, Inc.


SUBJECT:   PROGRAM ASSISTANT


DEPARTMENT:   Runaway and Homeless Youth Programs


HOURS:    Up to 20 hours within a two week pay period including day, evening, and overnight hours. Some flexible hours as well as scheduled shifts on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.


 REQUIREMENTS:  Prefer a minimum of 2 years of college in a human services field and 2 years of work experience in a child caring institution; proof of negative TB test; 3 professional references; not a perpetrator of child abuse/neglect; no convictions relating to harm or threatened harmed to an individual.


SUPERVISED BY:   Director of RHY and Program Manager


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fulfill all duties of an Intervention Specialist or Transitional Living Specialist, including working scheduled shifts.
  • Assist the Program Manager in completing orientation and training of new staff, undergraduate interns and volunteers.
  • Assist in maintenance of health and fire standards, licensing rules, nutritional and medical needs, and building maintenance.
  • Inventory, purchase and organize the majority of food, household items and office supplies. Promptly complete associated purchase orders and forward to the administrative office.
  • Assist in purchasing clothing, school supplies and other necessary items for clients in need. Promptly complete associated purchase orders and forward to the administrative office.
  • Assisting in overseeing building cleanliness and organization.
  • Inventory and organize donations and agency clothing/hygiene item supplies.
  • Complete 25 hours of training each fiscal year as required by State licensing.
  • Complete time sheet by the end of each pay period.
  • Attend monthly Business Meetings.
  • Any other duties as requested by the Supervisor.
