Assistant Store Managers support the overall daily operations of the store by helping lead store associates, maintain exceptional customer service, and achieve sales and profitability goals. This position assists in overseeing staffing, merchandising, inventory control, safety, compliance, and operational standards while helping create a clean, organized, and customer-focused shopping environment.

Requirements/Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining a strong management team, quality associates, and adequate staffing levels.
Assist in managing daily store operations to achieve budgeted sales, gross profit, and net profit goals.
Help control labor, supplies, shrink, and operational expenses within company expectations.
Supervise, lead, and develop store associates while promoting teamwork and professionalism.
Ensure departments are properly staffed, stocked, merchandised, and maintained.
Assist in maintaining product quality, freshness, pricing accuracy, and inventory levels throughout the store.
Support merchandising initiatives, promotions, displays, and seasonal programs to increase sales.
Interact professionally with store management, associates, vendors, customers, and community members.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
Monitor and enforce all safety, security, loss prevention, and theft prevention procedures.
Conduct and maintain store key accountability and security procedures.
Monitor compliance with all labor laws, child labor regulations, and company workforce policies.
Ensure compliance with all laws and company procedures regarding the sale of alcohol, tobacco, lottery, and age-restricted products.
Review and complete required store reports, department paperwork, and operational documentation accurately and on time.
Conduct and participate in store meetings, department meetings, and associate communication programs.
Assist in completing store projections, scheduling, and labor planning.
Maintain accurate retail pricing and monitor competitive pricing on key items.
Resolve customer and associate concerns professionally and efficiently.
Maintain confidentiality regarding company and associate information.
Perform additional duties as assigned by store management.
Ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced retail environment.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, merchandising, and problem-solving skills required.
