Job description

Position: Sr Project Engineer / Process Engineer
Location: Waukegan, IL 60087 onsite
Duration: 24 - 36 Months
Pay Rate: $75.00 - $85.00 per hour on a W2 - This is not open for third party representation

I am looking for a Process Engineer / Project Engineer to support capital project execution and process improvements projects in a pharmaceutical or specialty chemical manufacturing industry
This person will lead equipment installations, facility upgrades, commissioning activities, and construction oversight while partnering closely with Operations, Maintenance, Validation, Quality, and Automation teams.
Responsibilities
• Support capital projects from design through startup and commissioning
• Lead process equipment installations, modifications, and facility upgrades
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and contractor activities
• Provide field support during construction, commissioning, and qualification
• Develop and review engineering documentation including URS, commissioning, and validation documents
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Validation, and Automation teams
• Drive process improvements focused on safety, reliability, and efficiency
Requirements
• Must have BS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Must have at least 10 years of Process Engineering and/or Project Engineering experience
• Must have GMP – regulated or Pharmaceutical, API, biotech, fine chemical, or specialty chemical manufacturing experience
• Must have Capital project experience within a manufacturing environment
• Must have experience managing contractors and supporting construction activities
• Strong knowledge of process equipment and engineering design
• Commissioning, qualification, and validation experience
• Exposure to Process Control Systems, DCS, and/or PLC-based control systems
• Scale-up or process development experience
