Description

Oneida Engineering Solutions (OES) was awarded the Outstanding Tribally Owned Business of the Year award in 2023. We are an 8(a), minority business enterprise (MBE) that provides engineering, environmental, science, and specialized professional services solutions for customers nationwide. Our primary clients are WisDOT, MnDOT, counties, municipalities, and private developers in Wisconsin.


OES has immediate openings for a Civil Engineer based on a hybrid schedule (2-3 days in office) at our Milwaukee Office (1033 North Mayfair Road, Suite 200, Milwaukee, WI 53226).


This person will serve as a technical lead on water resources and site development projects. This role requires a strong technical foundation, the ability to think independently, and an interest in continuously learning new skills and solving real infrastructure problems.


This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering work, technical problem solving, and client interaction, and who is comfortable taking ownership of technical solutions from concept through design and construction support.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as technical lead on civil engineering projects.
  • Plan, design, and oversee engineering work related to stormwater management systems, water distribution and wastewater collection infrastructure, site development, and utility design.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical memoranda, and design reports.
  • Develop plans, specifications, and cost estimates for infrastructure projects.
  • Work closely with municipal and agency clients, including coordination with regulatory authorities.
  • Support projects involving stormwater modeling, hydraulic analysis, and infrastructure planning.
  • Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
  • Support proposal development and project planning when needed.


Preferred Project Experience:

  • Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas are strongly preferred:
  • Stormwater management and watershed analysis
  • Site development and grading design
  • Municipal infrastructure design
  • Hydraulic or hydrologic modeling
  • Utility and drainage design
  • Work with public-sector clients or water utilities

The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently while collaborating with a team, enjoys learning new technical skills and expanding their expertise, and communicates effectively with both clients and engineers.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (candidates close to licensure will be considered)
  • Familiarity with public-sector infrastructure projects
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Experience preparing engineering reports, calculations, and specifications
  • Ability to communicate clearly with clients and project teams
  • Candidates should demonstrate strong, real-world problem-solving ability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Civil3D Experience with ArcGIS Pro / GIS analysis
  • Experience with stormwater or hydraulic modeling software
  • Project management experience or interest in developing project management skills
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering (water resources or related field) is a plus

Additional Considerations:


Mid- to senior-level candidates will be considered. Mid-level candidates should be strong technically and capable of working independently, while senior-level candidates are expected to have established client relationships and experience supporting project or business development.


Compensation: $80,000- $120,000 Annually + Benefits (Based on Experience)
