The Dixon Group is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Dixon Sanitary Division! In this role you will plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes in an industrial plant. Develop, evaluate, and improve production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs. Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop the most efficient processes to complete manufacturing builds
  • Design fixtures and gages to help manufacture products
  • Specify and help procure new equipment to continually improve efficiency (automation)
  • Help develop product designs to ensure they are optimal for manufacturability
  • Travel to suppliers, as necessary, to help improve their processes to provide us with cost-saving and/or quality improvements
  • Support Quality Assurance with Fixture & Gage design and project related tasks
  • Develop and follow through on Continual Improvement projects

What We're Looking For:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 5 to 10 years of manufacturing or mechanical engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related
  • Strong understanding of mechanical drawings
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering principles and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent math skills
  • SolidWorks (or other 3D CAD) experience
  • Proficient in Word, Excel
  • Strong communication skills- answering technical questions.
  • Ability to generate ideas for process improvements and lean manufacturing.
