Across 24 shelters in New York City, URI provides safe housing for nearly 4,000 individuals and their pets every night and serves more than 40,000 people annually.

URIโ€™s work is grounded in survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care. In addition to emergency and transitional housing, URI delivers a robust continuum of Justice Initiativesโ€”including economic empowerment, legal education and advocacy, prevention and youth programming, and abusive partner interventionโ€”designed to break cycles of violence, instability, and poverty. URI also develops permanent affordable and supportive housing, advancing long-term pathways to safety, healing, and stability for families and communities.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior RAPP Coordinator provides site-based leadership for a designated RAPP Hub and oversees the implementation of the Relationship Abuse Prevention Program (RAPP).ย This role supervises the RAPP Coordinator and Community Organizer at their respective site and ensures high-quality, equitable, and mission-aligned programming.

Salary: $73,000 - $77,000

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

People Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead the development of a borough-specific hub for RAPP.
  • Provide inclusive supervision and leadership to hub-based staff, including clinical supervision where appropriate.
  • Support professional development and career pathways for direct reports.

Program Pillars & Strategic Oversight

  • RJ/TJ Leadership:ย Oversee the fidelity of restorative and transformative justice practices within the hub, ensuring they are grounded in trauma-informed care.
  • Summer Program Management:ย Direct the strategic vision of the summer leadership intensive, ensuring the successful preparation of youth leaders for the academic year.
  • Community Action Projects (CAPs):ย Monitor the execution of CAPs across the hub, ensuring they meet funder deliverables while fostering genuine student agency.
  • Youth Leadership Initiatives:ย Guide the curriculum design for youth empowerment to align with URIโ€™s Theory of Change.

Program & Fiscal Management

  • Develop and achieve annual program goals aligned with KPIs and funder deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Oversee accurate and timely data entry and reporting.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

  • Masterโ€™s degree in social work, counseling, or related field with active NYS licensure.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3โ€“5 years of experience in youth programming, supervision, or clinical leadership.
  • Strong commitment to equity, trauma-informed care, and project management.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Will be required to read printed and handwritten materials.
  • Will be required to manipulate the computer mouse and keyboard.
  • Will be required to read information on computer screen.
  • Will be required to use computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Requires regular travel across all five boroughs.
  • Hybrid work schedule โ€“ 4 days onsite; 1 day remote.
